Commodity Boxes for ages 60+

The Food Center will be distributing Commodity Supplemental Food Program boxes to qualified individuals age 60+.  They will be at the Leeton Community Center on Monday, June 26, 2023 10am-Noon to help individuals with the application process.

The Food Center, 137 E Culton St, Warrensburg, Mo 64093 is pleased to announce that they will be distributing Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) boxes.  The Commodity Supplemental Food Program is a program of the USDA, which focuses on seniiors and is administered through Harvesters - The Community Food Network.  It provides individuals age 60 and above with a monthly box of nonperishable nutritious food to help supplement a daily diet. 

There is an applicaiton that must be completed to determine eligibility for Johnson County, MO seniors to receive food.  The two main requirements are to be age 60 or above, have a montly household maximum income level for a one-person household of $1,580 or for a two-person household of $2,137 and for each additional person add $577.  The applicant would also need to provide proof of Johnson County residency, date of birth and total number of people living in the household along with their date of birth.

We are focusingon the communities of Centerview, Knob Noster, Leeton, and Chilhowee as the program is currently offered in Holden and Warrensburg.  We will begin accepting applications immediately, please contact The Food Center at 660-747-6188 to schedule an appointment to complete an application.
