Public Notice of Candidacy Filing for City of Leeton

The City of Leeton hereby calls for a General Municipal Election on April 4th, 2023 for the positions of:
Mayor and Two (2) Alderman at Large - Two Year Terms
Candidates shall file their declaration of candidacy with the City of Leeton City Clerk, 108 W. Summerfield, Leeton, MO. The first day of filing will begin at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. Thereafter, filings will be taken during normal business hours of the City Clerk's office. The filing period ends at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022. On the first day of filing, a drawing will be conducted to determine the candidate's ballot position. Candidate filings after the first day of filing will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Proof of identity in the form of a Voter ID card, Missouri Driver's license, birth certificate or other form of certified or photo ID will be required for filing. Office hours at the City's Clerk office are 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Monday - Thursday, excluding holidays and posted closed days. Candidates must have resided in the City of Leeton, Missouri for at least one year. They must be at least 21 years of age, and be a registered voter in the State of Missouri. Municipal Election will be held Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, at the location and hours to be designated by Johnson County Election Authority.
